Record Turnout at Thunder Island Brewing for Escaped Bridge Troll Bounty Hunt Fundraiser

More than one hundred people turned up to support Main Street Cascade Locks at its February 4th Thunder Island Community Night fundraiser. The event generated a record net total $1865 in donations and troll bounty permit, raffle and silent auction sales. Proceeds will be used to offset the organization’s 2026 operating and project costs.

Event organizers credit its success to early and intensive planning. This gave members the time needed to solicit, collect and package the largest number of items possible for our troll bounty rewards, raffle and silent auction. It also made it possible to fully develop and incorporate the ‘escaped bridge troll’ theme into event programming and all promotional materials including the production by Gorgeous! Cascade Locks of the four-part series of “news” reports about the escape of the bridge trolls that collectively garnered a whopping 10,000+ views, shares and reposts on Facebook alone. You can see the entire campaign, including all videos by clicking here.

There are still at least 11 troll bounties that haven’t been claimed. Maybe they’re still out there hiding, or maybe they’ve been found, given a new home and smuggled out of town to live a life of freedom elsewhere. Either way, there’s still a bounty on each of their little heads that can be claimed by contacting the MSCL hotline at 971-208-5598.

Main Street Cascade Locks spends the majority of its time and money doing things that make the downtown district more economically productive and supportive of the social as well as cultural needs of the community we serve. Current projects are listed below.

Rehabilitation of 505 Wanapa (Old Fire Station Building)
Driven by the award of a $400,000 Oregon Main Street Revitalization grant in May 2025, this project will bring one of downtown's most recognizable vacant buildings up to code and back into use as the new home of Buddy's Arcade. Click here for details.

October 2026 Bridge of the Gods Downtown Centennial Celebration
Local government, businesses, artists and others will come together in October to present a month-long program of special exhibits, attractions, displays, events, activities and menu/merchandise offerings to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the opening of the Bridge of the Gods.
